1. Petrosains Discovery Centre

This 7000 square feet science discovery centre opened in 1999 and has been a perennial favourite since – and it is too easy to see why. It uses a fun and interactive approach to educate the masses about science and technology, and with 11 main interactive showcases that are a breeze to navigate and can be visited in any order, we dare say the Petrosains Discovery Centre will remain popular for many more years to come! Also features museum-style exhibits ranging from fossils to space age!

2. Kidzania Kuala Lumpur

Kidzania is a cross-curricular educational experience that is challenging and (yet) super fun for all kids from the age of 4 to 14. A sprawling, 18000 square feet playground that plays host to more than a whopping 60 role playing adventures, we guarantee that your kids will be reluctant to leave at the end of the day! Take your kids there this weekend and watch as they learn the value of independence and teamwork at the same time – all while having loads of fun!

3. Aquaria KLCC

The tagline reads “Aquaria KLCC is a world-class aquarium that showcases animals & marine life from Malaysia and around the world” – and world class it truly is! Occupying more than 60,000 square feet at the concourse level of KLCC, Aquaria boasts of not just MANY species of marine life, but also interactive kiosks in which your kids could go on a virtual adventure to see more marine creatures! 4. Sunway Lagoon Theme Park

Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is not your average water theme park. For starters, it features a wildlife park that’s teeming with more than 90 species of animals that you and your kid can interact with. There are basically five vastly different zones in total, namely the Water Park, Scream Park, Amusement Park, Extreme Park and Wildlife Park. Cross out your calendar – you’ll be spending the entire day there with kids who do not want to leave! Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

5. Farm In The City

If you have a kid who happens to be an animal lover, they will enjoy spending their day at Farm in the city! Unlike your run-of-the-mill zoo, Farm in the city actually allows its customers get up close and personal with the animals. Your kid will enjoy petting and watching all the different species of animals, ranging from bunnies and turtles to peacocks and iguanas! What a way to gain an appreciation of Mother Nature.

6. KL Bird Park

And speaking of Mother Nature, the KL Bird Park is another must-visit! Your family will enjoy being in close proximity to more than a whopping 3000 animals (and 200 species) of the avian variety. The rich flora and fauna in the park is also truly a sight for the sore eye – making KL Bird Park the perfect distraction for the jaded city dweller.

P/S: Did you know that the KL Bird Park is one of the world’s largest covered bird parks? The attraction is also sometimes referred to as the “World’s Largest Free-Flight Walk-In Aviary”!

7. National Science Center 

 

The National Science Center is an ever-popular destination for an educational outing with the kids. The building itself is a sight to behold, with a shape that’s reminiscent of a mosque, and perched atop a tranquil hill at Bukit Kiara. The Center aims to promote an interest in science and technology – which means kids will get to view interesting exhibitions and partake in various scientific experiments!

8. Kid’s E World

This attraction is relatively new, but is more than just a regular kids’ playground. For one, there are many interesting workshops and courses for kids to participate in. These include Art Education, Dance and Kindermusik, just to name a few. Suitable for children between the ages of 0-12, Kid’s E World’s playground is filled with state-of-the-art toys that are mostly padded to ensure utmost child safety – so you can watch them play with ease of mind. Your kids will leave with only perspiration (from hours of running around) and happy memories!

9. District 21

 District 21 is a popular indoor theme park in Putrajaya.
